About

GINC Defence, part of the GINC directories of government, defence and companies.

GINC Defence is a world directory of each nation’s national security structure and the platforms it holds. This first pass covers the 19 G20 nations and five more where the evidence is most contested: Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, Iran and North Korea.

It is one of three directories that are one dataset seen from three sites. government.ginc.org holds each nation’s state and government; this site continues it below the defence ministry and the other governing bodies of national security, with the same bodies and the same identifiers; companies.ginc.org, when it opens, will hold the manufacturers this site lists as stubs. Every body, platform, holding and manufacturer carries a Wikidata identifier where one exists and a Factbase identifier minted for it.

The site is a view of the data: the structure, the catalogue, the holdings and the measures are built from public sources and published with them. It does not rank nations or score their strength.

GINC Defence is a prototype. Figures are claims with sources; where they disagree, every source’s figure is kept. Corrections are welcome.
